Upper West Side Terrace
This project was a renovation of an existing pre-war 450 square-foot terrace that was more than ten years old and lacked an overall cohesive design. Our main goal was to unify the space. The exterior space was thoughtfully organized, adding new flooring, custom wood lath carpentry, and a new simplified plant palette. The end result was a clean terrace with a dining area, two lounge areas, a fountain, and plenty of privacy from neighboring buildings. The "outdoor rooms" that were created added to the flow of the interior of the apartment. Scale and the choice of materials were extremely important to create a zen-like cozy contemporary space for a young couple and their dog.
